FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Concord, MA, February 18, 2002 – North Atlantic Publishing Systems, Inc. and Zondervan today announced an agreement to deploy a 75 seat integrated NPS 2000 and NTS system at Zondervan's Headquarters in Grand Rapids Michigan. Zondervan will utilize NAPS products to provide a single content management and production system for all its product groups, and to provide Quark or Word to XML conversion.

The intranet-based NPS 2000 document management system will enable all Zondervan editorial, marketing, design and production teams, as well as outside resources, to efficiently distribute content to desktop publishing applications, providing efficient content creation and re-purpose access. With the North Atlantic solution, Zondervan will create a unified editorial environment, accessible from any web browser, which ties together familiar applications such as Word, Quark, Photoshop, etc.

NTS, the award-winning Quark and Word to XML conversion software which automates the process of creating XML from both newly-created and legacy documents, will be used to facilitate content re-use, specifically targeted at Zondervan's web site, e-books, and CDROM production processes.

In searching for a content management solution, Al Kerkstra, Vice President of Support Operations, sought to improve the global publishing production process by implementing a robust, feature-rich content manager to improve the overall efficiency of creating and editing. "We will significantly increase productivity and shorten the production time by using NTS' batch process conversion," said Kerkstra.
